Quick definition: The Integrated Program Management Report (IPMR) is a set of standardized reports required on many US Government contracts with a formal Earned Value Management requirement.
The IPMR comprises seven formats: Format 1, Work Breakdown Structure; Format 2, Organizational Categories; Format 3, Baseline; Format 4, Staffing; Format 5, Explanations and Problem Analyses; Format 6, Integrated Master Schedule; and Format 7, History and Forecast File. Together they give the government a consistent, contract-wide view of project status rather than relying on each contractor's own ad hoc reporting. On many newer contracts the IPMR has been superseded by the IPMDAR.
Why it matters
Because the IPMR's formats are standardized across contracts, government program offices can compare performance data consistently across their portfolio rather than each contractor reporting in a different way.
